Read below for some tips for practicing solitude at home.

Choose a space

It is helpful to pick a quiet space in your home and set up a space that you can frequent for solitude. Have a journal, some pens, you Bible and maybe a blanket of other comforting items.

Start With Prayer

Open up your time with a short prayer of consecration to the Lord. Give him things that are heavy on your mind and then take 3-4 deep breaths to calm yourself.

Enter into the practices

Start working your way through the practice booklet linked below. choose a practice and set a timer for the recommended amount of time. Some practices will have you journaling more some will allow you space to meditate more so ask the Lord and choose the practice that He leads you to.

Close With Prayer

After you have completed the practice or practices that you have chosen to do this time, wrap up your time with a prayer giving all of the things back to the Lord and then close with 3-4 deep breaths.

Well done, you have completed a time of solitude, this is not an exact formula, this is merely a guide to help you start. As you grow in this your time will likely start to grow and adapt with you and that is ok!
